About Me

I am a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Psychological Sciences at the University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL). I am a core faculty member of the Ph.D. clinical psychology program at UMSL, and the Director of the Depression, Affect, Relationships, and Equity Lab. I conduct research on affective and social processes related to psychological well-being and psychopathology, with a particular focus on depression and people of diverse identities and lived experiences. I am also a licensed clinical psychologist with a generalist training background and a specialization in relationship therapy. Outside of my academic job, I provide therapy services through my private practice (see my Psychology Today page).

I received my B.S. in Psychology (with a minor in Computer Science) from the University of California, San Diego in 2015. I obtained my Ph.D. in Psychological & Brain Sciences, with a Graduate Certificate in Quantitative Data Analysis, from Washington University in St. Louis in 2022, following the completion of my predoctoral internship at Emory University School of Medicine. Prior to joining the UMSL, I completed two postdoctoral fellowships at the Stony Brook University and the University of Denver.

For prospective clinical psychology doctoral students: I may be accepting new graduate students in the Ph.D. Clinical Psychology Program at UMSL for Fall 2027 admission. Please check for updates on UMSL website in late August. This document details my ongoing and future programs of research conveyed to applicants from the last application cycle (it will be updated in September).
